On May 25, 2021, Austin and Alexia matched on Hinge over their love of sports. While both had been hesitant to give dating apps a shot, the lingering COVID-19 lockdowns inspired them to expand their social circles. Luckily, the rest is history!

The couple happily dated for a year, where a strong friendship quickly blossomed and their love for each other grew stronger every day. However, in the summer of 2022, Alexia shocked Austin by confessing her desire to pack up her possessions, give up her apartment, and travel across South America and Mexico as a digital nomad for the first six months of 2023. After months of tough conversations, guarantees that Alexia would return, and promises that she loved Austin with all her heart, the two decided their relationship could survive long distance.

In January 2023, Alexia and Austin kicked off her adventures by traveling to Guatemala and hiking an active volcano. It was one of the most challenging, mesmerizing, and magical experiences they had ever experienced and they were grateful they could share the moment together. However, both knew that at the end of the four-day trip their relationship would officially transition to long distance. Alexia would be flying to Bogota, Colombia while Austin would be flying back to Los Angeles. With lots of tears and hugs the couple said their goodbyes and transitioned to daily facetime calls (thankfully with a few intermittent return visits). Alexia will forever be grateful to Austin for supporting her dreams, believing in the strength of their relationship and their love for each other.

Upon her return in August 2023, Alexia and Austin moved into an apartment near Downtown Culver City. Together they furnished and decorated it, turning their first apartment into their first home. Each evening, the couple cooks dinner together and catches up on their days eating by candlelight. They love walking into Downtown Culver City to try the newest restaurant, attend a community event, or just have some ice cream and people watch. They love their little community and would love to one day purchase a home in the area.

On May 26, 2024, three years after their fateful first date on Memorial Day 2021, Austin got on one knee and asked Alexia to spend the rest of her life with him at the same Playa del Rey beach they had their first date. Alexia lovingly, and tearfully, responded with a YES!

Alexia and Austin excitedly await September 27, 2025, when they will profess their love and commitment to each other in front of all their closest family and friends.

They can't wait to celebrate this very meaningful and special day surrounded by all of you.
